This page is for resources for student "Independent Study" time. Basically, it's a list of constructive activities they can work on when their work for the day or week is complete.
Consider having a Wiki page (or another web page) that lists your allowed activities.

Learning Game Websites:
  • CSI: Web Experience - Learn about the technology of forensics while solving three challenging crimes
  • Fantastic Contraption - A fun online physics puzzle game where you build whimsical machines to solve each level. Save your contraptions and share them with your friends
  • CCL Winter Game - Your purpose is to use various parts available in your inventory to make the small box go from the begining point to the room's exit.
  • - Where the world is your playground. Google Earth is a detailed 3D view of our entire planet. Rather than just looking at it, why not play on it!
  • BrainBashers - Massive and exciting collection of brain teasers, puzzles, riddles, games and optical illusions.
    Note: Some of these are pretty close to just being regular games (vs. educational)
  • Braingle - Over 20,000 brain teasers, riddles, logic problems, quizzes and mind puzzles
  • Wordle - Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. Instructions can be found here.
  • Game for Science - The first virtual world dedicated to science! Explore all kinds of virtual islands depending on your interests: health, aeronautics, genomics, environment, engineering and more. You’ll find fun games, interesting facts and fascinating photos and videos – all on a science theme.
  • Cool Math 4 Kids - An amusement park of math and more... designed for fun!
  • Goldburger To Go - The ZOOMers were challenged to design a machine that serves lunch to the ZOOM cast and crew. They've called it the Goldburger To Go, and they need your help to finish it.
  • Samarost - An intriguing flash website where you are dropped in the middle of a strange new universe where they must solve a variety of challenging puzzles. You play a character that you must help save from an asteroid collision. There are no instructions on how to play the game; you simply use reasoning and deduction to solve the puzzles.
  • Tinker Ball - Build a track for our ball by tinkering with everyday objects.
  • Edheads - Virtual medical procedures, simple machine activities, and more.
